It must be a sign of spring to come! ULM opens the conference play with a 3 game series against the defending conference tournament champs Western Kentucky. The Warhawks enter this series with a 6-2 record and will find out early on how good their team is. The Hilltoppers were favored to win the league again this season. The Warhawks do have the Sun Belt Preseason Player of the Year Ben Soignier and he is starting to heat up. Ben has five hits in his last nine at-bats. Tonight the Hilltoppers will send Preseason Pitcher of the Year Matt Ridings to the mound and he is sporting a 2-0 record with a 0.00 ERA. It will be a tough test.
